
On an MHM press, you can’t chase curing variance. If the lamp slips, you get incomplete cross-linking, adhesion failure, and stops you didn’t plan for. We built these UV lamps to deliver repeatable output—at least what the OEM specs, or better—without blowing the total cost. What actually matters in UV curing It isn’t about brightness. It’s spectral match and dose. Our mercury vapor lamps hold a stable profile centered on 365 nm, which lines up with the photoinitiators in offset, flexo, and screen inks. Peak irradiance at the substrate plane is engineered to exceed 1200 mW/cm², and we call out energy density in mJ/cm² so you can tie lamp settings to throughput and the cure window. The reflector uses a dichroic coating to cut IR heating while pushing UV delivery, and the arc gap geometry is tuned so the dose stays even across the full print width. Why this plays on MHM presses MHM presses need lamp output that stays put, or you lose color register and drift off the cure threshold. Our retrofit lamps drop in with the same electrical and mechanical interfaces, and the spectral output tracks the OEM curve closely enough that you can keep your existing cure profiles instead of retuning. In practice, that means fewer rejects, ink tack that stays stable, and the ability to run faster without overcuring. Energy use drops because more of the input gets turned into usable UV, and lamp life is backed by real data: we’ve got units running beyond 5,000 hours with less than 5% output decay. The shop-floor details that matter Installation is straightforward, but alignment is not optional. If the lamp isn’t seated right or the reflector shifts, the dose distribution moves and you get edge-to-center variation. Check reflector cleanliness and cooling airflow—both control temperature, and temperature shifts spectral output. Also make sure your power supply matches the lamp’s rated arc voltage and ignition profile, or you’ll burn the electrodes early.
