Engineering for the Wood Coating Line
We built this UV curing lamp for one reason: to handle the tough demands of wood finishing. In this world, you can’t mess around. You need consistent heat and a cure that happens fast. After 15 years spent honing the physics of shortwave infrared transfer, we finally got it right. The result is a unit that delivers the same reliable output day after day, no matter what the production floor throws at it.
The Power Behind the Process
Here’s the thing—we don’t design this thing in a vacuum. We spec the lamp to match the reality of your line speed. It runs on 400V. That gives you rock-solid power delivery, so you never get voltage dips when the lamp kicks into high gear. And at 2500W, it produces just the right amount of heat density. Enough to evaporate solvents and cross-link wood coatings perfectly, but not so much that you scorch the wood. The 300mm active length creates a tight focal zone. All that energy goes right where you need it, so you waste less heat and keep everything else—fixtures, belts, the whole setup—cooler. And at just 150mm overall, the footprint is small. So it slips right into existing enclosures. You can retrofit it without having to tear apart the whole station.
Built to Last
Inside, we use a halogen capsule housed in a quartz envelope. Why? Because it can handle the constant, rapid heating and cooling cycles. The envelope also has a special coating to manage UV leakage and protect the filament from hot spots. The payoff? Fewer burnouts and steady output for the life of the lamp. And for the connector, we went with the R7s. It’s the practical choice for industrial work. The two-point contact handles high current and resists arcing. Plus, it’s a drop-in fit for most standard sockets, so you can wire it up quickly and keep changeover time to a minimum.
What It Does on the Line
On the wood coating line, this lamp gets the job done. It cures topcoats and sealers fast, which keeps your throughput high and your reject rate low. That concentrated heat profile lets you run at higher line speeds without sacrificing cure depth. But wait—there’s one trade-off. With 2500W at 400V, you’re dealing with serious heat density. So your machine’s cooling system needs to be up to the task. If it can’t handle the ambient temperature rise, you risk shortening the life of other components. We give you the numbers you need to plan the installation. We match the lamp to the process, so you can get it right from the start.
