But wattage is just power; spectral distribution is what actually does the work. Whether you’re using LED or mercury-vapor, the wavelength has to shake hands with the photoinitiators in your ink. If they don’t match, you get that nightmare scenario: “surface cure.” The top feels dry to the touch, but underneath? It’s still tacky. That’s how you end up with coatings that peel right off. The hardware headache If a replacement doesn’t fit the electrical footprint perfectly, you’re asking for trouble. A voltage mismatch can fry a brand-new lamp in a matter of hours.
